The new subsidiary to focus on providing new retail solutions specifically to the food and beverage industry
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., April 24, 2019 — Swyft, Inc., a global leader in automated retail and retail automation, has announced the formation of a new subsidiary, Swyft Food Service Automation. This new subsidiary is focused on providing new retail solutions for the food and beverage industry with an aim to improve the way consumers shop. Swyft Food Service Automation offers new sensor-based technology solutions for vend operators, which Swyft’s existing business models have not previously allowed for. Swyft, Inc. is also pleased to appoint Mike Kiser as CEO of the subsidiary. Mike Kiser is the former CEO of Canteen and former Board Member of Compass Group.
“For years Swyft and our subsidiary ZoomSystems have grown in international markets providing robotic technologies with brands such as Best Buy, CVS and Nespresso,” said Gower Smith, CEO of Swyft, Inc. “As vend operators have increasingly sought our technology, we responded by creating new sensor-based technologies that are cost-effective, simple to operate and deliver a great consumer experience. We are thrilled to welcome Mike Kiser on board, as we take this exciting new offering to the market.”
At the National Retail Federation Big Show in January this year Swyft displayed prototypes of their sensor based cabinets and refrigerators that allow consumers to simply pick up items and walk away. These cabinets are planned for release to vend operators at the NAMA trade-show in Las Vegas this week.
“Since Gower filed his first Automated Retail patents in 1992, many other companies have since followed suit,” said Mike Kiser, CEO of Swyft Food Service Automation. “Now I believe we are jointly paving the way for these new sensor-based technologies to make a huge splash in global markets and improving the way consumers shop.”
